Second training course on financial viability and profitability analysis of new technologies, enterprises

LOS BAÑOS, Philippines – The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR), will conduct the training course on Financial Viability and Profitability Analysis of New Technologies and Enterprises under High Value Crops Development Program for the second batch of DA-BAR staff on 27-30 June 2017 at the SEARCA headquarters. This activity is part of a series of training courses under the DA-BAR-funded project titled Financial Viability and Profitability Analysis of New Technologies and Enterprises under High Value Crops Development Program. 

The training course aims to provide research personnel of various academic and research institutions the knowledge and skills of conducting financial viability and profitability analysis of new technologies and enterprises. The major topics to be covered include (1) Cost and Return Analysis, (2) Partial Budget Analysis, (3) Break-even Analysis, and (4) Financial Cash Flow Analysis.

A total of 20 participants who are familiar with the financial aspect of their respective projects are expected to attend the training. They are DA attached agencies staff and personnel of state universities and colleges (SUCs) from the 18 selected projects funded by DA-BAR.

Dr. Corazon T. Aragon, Project Leader, and Dr. Cesar B. Quicoy, Financial Viability Expert, will serve as the lead lecturers. Mr. Bates M. Bathan, Training Facilitator, and Dr. Antonio Jesus A. Quilloy, Training Manual Designer, will serve as facilitators.

This activity is spearheaded by the SEARCA Project Development and Technical Services (PDTS) led by Dr. Lope B. Santos III, Program Specialist and Officer-in-Charge; Ms. Nancy M. Landicho, Program Specialist; and Ms. Imelda L. Batangantang, Program Associate. Ms. Maribel B. Almanza, Project Coordinator, and Mr. Jerrel Edric B. Mallari, Project Assistant, will provide technical and logistical assistance in the training.
