SEARCA and Myanmar's MoALI co-organize policy roundtable on rice and other important agricultural commodities in Myanmar

The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation (MoALI) of Myanmar, will jointly organize the Policy Roundtable on Rice and other Important Agricultural Commodities: Towards Evidence-Based Policy Formulation on 1 April 2017 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. 

The event aims to serve as a capability building process where policymakers, mostly from the Ministry, learn from the experiences of other countries on formulating evidence-based policies. It will feature presentations of resource persons emphasizing the importance of evidence-based policy formulation process in some of the countries in Southeast Asia. To illustrate the process, discussions shall include the most important commodities in Myanmar's agriculture and fisheries.

Dr. Ramon L. Clarete, Professor at the School of Economics of the University of the Philippines Diliman serves as Technical Coordinator of the policy roundtable. Aside from MoALI, key Officials and staff, the event will also be participated in by representatives from the private sector and selected local and international development organizations.
